I was nominated to receive  an award for contributions to the local visual arts scene at the Townsville City Council Art Awards last Saturday night. Didn't win, but it was a marvellous night of entertainment, with top notch performances by many local arts groups including Indigenous dance, Youth dance, a marvellous reading from Madonna Davies, and songs and music from several different groups including the cast of "Les Miserables" recent local production. The quality and variety of the performances was incredible, and I'd encourage anyone who lives around Townsville to attend next year. Highlight of my night was NOT stumbling as I walked the red carpet!
